(grant) so many hillsides are barren or close to it... and without the trees and vegitation that used to absorb heavy rain ...today water carreened down onto roadways and into neighborhoods. forestry officials say the the immediate danger is over ... but this afteroon water rescue boats were used to rescue people from three homes on horse run lane... a low lying area below paradise near highway 99. heavy downpours forved an evacuation warning for the hamlin canyon and lower neal zones which are in the camp fire burn zone. this is video showing highway- 99 flooded near chico -- and some of the surrounding area in durham. and in chico... flooded roads propmted at least one driver to ditch the car

you have been listening to the butte county sheriff there. within the last few minutes gave us the grim update tonight that he says is the most difficult part of his job. we just learned that the death toll is up from 48 to 56. he said they found an additional 8 human remains today. two were found outside, six found inside structures, he said they were all found in the paradise area. they have tentatively identified 47 as of today. but they are waiting for dna confirmation. 130 people are still unaccounted for. he said they have brought in 287 additional search-and- rescue personnel. 250 members of the california national guard. butte county sheriff says they have 22 dogs helping with search efforts. and also, some good news he said they brought in a rapid dna system which will help expedite efforts to identify human remains. but the headline here tonight is the death toll from the butte county "camp fire" has now risen to 56 with an additional 8 remains found today. >>> also, we should just give you some updated numbers on the fire itself. i
