thing that's in focus here in wisconsin today is, obviously, the flap between the president and house speaker paul ryan. this is the kind of confrontation that the speaker has, you know, he's been criticized on the show for doing which is avoiding public confrontation with this president, basically at every turn and arguing hey it's more productive if i give the president a phone call. that spilled out in the open with this conversation about birth right citizenship and i'm interested to see if the speaker is going to answer any questions from the media who are out here today. my guess is he's going to try to dodge that in favor ever trying to help scott walker who is in some ways difficult race for re-election. i want says a lot, i think, actually about the climate here because if anything based on who he is running against this should be an easier race for scott walker than other ones he's run but insteed he's at a real risk of losing. if that to were happen think about in a state like wisconsin and don't forget this is a place where hillary clinton was criticized for not going to.

, wisconsin and michigan. midwestern states trump won in 2016, and would need to win in 2020 if he runs again. no wonder president trump continues to stew with loose and wild talk of rigged elections and corruption in those races yet to be called. before i say anything about florida, the main focus of trump's hostility, let me say this. there are two simple understandable reasons why the vote count wasn't complete on election night. one, very understandable, absentee ballots needed to be counted. two, provisional ballots needed to be counted. those were held to be counted if they proved decisive, which they are now decisive. it's one thing to be frustrated about a count taking time these days. it's another thing to charge vote rigging. that's demagoguery. that's what trump fired in 2016 when he expected to lose in 2016. i don't know why rick scott down in florida is going down the same trump path now. 57 counties began a machine recount of all the votes in that state on saturday. those counties have until this thursday, three days from now, at 3:00 p.m., to finish the job. but irresponsibly,

out of the result, if you can see that democrats won statewide in pennsylvania, wisconsin, michigan and ohio. right. so you can, and by the way, you can get to 270 with the states that hillary won, and winning just michigan, wisconsin and pennsylvania. you don't have to the win ohio. and that is going to get you to 270, and so that is going show you that it is possible. i bet you that the next the democratic candidate who is our nominee in 2020 will win at least three of those states and maybe not ohio. but, the future is arizona, tex texas ga. and i felt that in '16. that you can kucan could see th states moving, but not ready enough. i know that we like to frame it as a choice of ooeither you are appealing to people in the midwest or appealing to the people in the sun belt, but democrats have shown that they can win in both places, and candidates in 2020 should do that. and you know, i think that what the results showed is that people if you are running on the issue that is important to you, and it is true to, you know, the candidate that you are, and it is what voters care about,
