jerry nadler and we don't expect him to take kindly to the comments that matt whitaker will not appear if he is served with a subpoena. this came after a rather unusual move by the democratic house committee to authorize nadler to issue a subpoena if he chooses not to appear or not answer the question. a wide range of questions democrats want to ask him, including conversations he may have had with the president, mueller investigation, discussions that he may or may not have had and not recusing himself from the mueller probe, and the fact that federal prosecutors implicated the president in multiple crimes. they want to know if those discussions occurred. sending that letter to nadler today, saying this, from the assistant attorney general steven boyd, the acting attorney general will testify at no time did the white house ask for or did the acting attorney general provide any promises or commitments concerning the special counsel's investigation. we do not believe, however, the committee may legitimately expect the acting attorney general to discuss his communications with the
