maria: charles, are you with us? >> yes, i am, maria. maria: terrific. a apologies for that issue with your audio. we're glad you're here. what's your take on the growth story today for the u.s. economy? taking into consideration this uncertainty that we're talking about every day over trade policy. >> well, i think the basic signs of the economy are still pretty good. yes, there's been softening in manufacturing in particular because of the trade issues and the uncertainty. consumer still seems to be holding up pretty strong. so i think the economy's still doing okay. but there remains a lot of uncertainty out there as we've all talked about and i don't think that uncertainty is going to go away very quickly but we'll have to wait and see. maria: in terms of the federal reserve and what it can do here, you know, we've had two late summer rate cuts, the fed expected to you put in place yet another cut coming up in the next two weeks amid this potential global slowdown. we're waiting to see if this is actually going to take effect. this is one criticism t

maria: hmm. dagen: are you worried about revenue growth revenue growth 60% revenue estimates beat, but you still have revenue growth based on when a we get from -- up less than expectations, so 3 and one half percent revenue growth, for the quarter so far again, you know you can -- say this all the time you can play around with your bottom line numbers your eps and earnings, revenue is harder to fake. >> revenue a lot harder so 3 1/2 is what we are looking for for this third quarter, 4.3% for all of 2019, but then rising to 5.4% next year the estimate is, you know a little bit higher, but usually when you are looking 12 months down a road analysts are a bit optimistic. since 2000 they have under shot i'm sorry they have over shot by 60% of the time so meaning, 60% of the last 20 years, they were wrong. and they overestimated earnings by 5.2 percentage points so right now if looking at 9.2%, growth for 2020 in terms of earnings we are looking to get maybe 4% if history holds true and the revenue n
