tyson. ♪ bernard: hello. it is an honor and a privilege to be here and spend a few minutes with you. i would like to start by saying, on behalf of kaiser permanente, what a privilege it is to be a part of working with many others to solve something in this world. i also want to say to our guests who are not from the bay area, whether you are from outside california or outside the united states, while you are in san francisco, hopefully you will not need it, but should something happen, you are welcome at kaiser permanente. [laughter] so we are very clear as an organization that there is an intersection between the environment and total health. kaiser permanente is very much focused on what we call total health, the mind, the body, the spirit. we also know that there are circumstances that affect a person's health. how you eat, how you sleep, how you manage stress. those are some examples. we also are aware of how the environment directly affects a person's health, and that is the intersection at which kaiser
