i would like to echo what was said earlier about director brinkman. it is very sad to hear you'll be leaving us, and i thank you for your long-time service here at the board. i'm sure --ime i'l -- i'll be speaking about bike lanes later. but right now i want to talk about something completely different, and that is the san francisco/oakland bay bridge, which has had bus lanes on it for about two years of its almost century-long existence. you may have heard there is an effort going on to bring back bus lanes on the bay bridge, and there is a few organizations, the east bay, working with assembly member bonta, on an effort there, that has been supported by the bart board and the alameda county transportation commission because their governance doesn't make any sense, either. as well as by the city councils in berkeley and oakland, and maybe emeryville, if i remember correctly. a.c. transit, obviously, operates transit bus service on the bay bridge. i would like to remind you all that the muni 25 line also operates on the bay bridge, and its unreliabili

hope that when tom nolan our current chair is turned out, our current vice chair and my friend sheryl brinkman will become the chair and i hope to help her in that transition. i'm not suggesting she'll need my help, but i look forward to helping her. finally specific projects going forward. it is important for each board member to identify projects that they focus on particularly and like to see forward and as i discussed with supervisor tang recently, i do villea great affinity for our taxi industry. i think it's important that our board work with our staff in the industry to help it through what is a difficult time right now with the competition from the tncs and i will continue to dedicate myself to doing that particularly through regulation relaxment and traffic control if expanded red carnts and taxicabs will help them, i'll support that. and i've been a strong proponent for expanding the ban on public cars. private cars, excuse me on market street. that is something i would like to see go forward and really be sort of a paradigm or example for other transit improvement throughout the cit

and then, i'll also just join director brinkman in expressing my sadness that broderick is coming off the list today. that was one my family was excited about. we've heard from public commenters on that, as well. and strongly recommend that we come quickly with a substitute to meet that corridor need that was identified. and on that note of the larger network on the connections, we've spoken a few meetings ago, i think, of the idea of a larger network and i think the presenters spoke about how we're taking steps toward the complete network, but how there are some significant gaps remaining and so i'm thinking about the next step after this process. are we looking to create a network and will you be bringing back a next phase so the board can fill in some of the gaps? >> we have no idea how long shelter-in-place will last. given the health data from this week, it appears that it will be lasting for quite some time. you heard that muni will be suffering for many months to come. we have lost about 30% of our service hours and two-thirds of remaining service and a total loss of 10% to 80%

. >> i think director brinkman has an item. >> thank you. it has been much discussed in the news the possible changes on natoma street around our property and i just wanted to bring up the idea that when d.t.x. goes in, the buildings on the corner of second and howard, to my understanding, will be demolished and that will be a plaza, which is supposed to connect into natoma street, and the original visioning from the architect was to be the plaza at the tower and the cable bridge above it all. i don't know what the answer is and i don't know what our role in this will continue to be, but i do just want to put in front of us that we probably should try and protect that visioning as much as possible. as we saw yesterday with the launch of the market street and carvery spaces. it is highly valued in the city right now and it will continue to be highly valued in a lot of cities. i want to put it out there that we should think about what that impact will be and what it will do to the overall visioning of the project. >> thank you. any other busin
