director brinkman. >> thank you. jonathan, leo, thank you both so much and all of your staff, the work has been amazing, from the very first discussions about budget at the board workshop, we've been able to go in depth into this and you've taken all of the feedback and you've come back with what i think is a good compromise and intend to support this. i just want to note that when we first start the wited with clipd offering a discount, i was 100% all in on clipper. i was looking at the golden gate ferry or whenever one was losing clipper that went to a high adoption rate so quickly and thought, we could do that and go there. but the big difference is, our riding public just doesn't have access to clipper load sites. bart is so lucky, there are clipper machines at every bart station. so if you're riding bart, you have access to reload your clipper card and so much of the city doesn't have that and we need to keep that in mind. as much as i would love us to go 100% to clipper, you're right, it's cheaper than running

hope that when tom nolan our current chair is turned out, our current vice chair and my friend sheryl brinkman will become the chair and i hope to help her in that transition. i'm not suggesting she'll need my help, but i look forward to helping her. finally specific projects going forward. it is important for each board member to identify projects that they focus on particularly and like to see forward and as i discussed with supervisor tang recently, i do villea great affinity for our taxi industry. i think it's important that our board work with our staff in the industry to help it through what is a difficult time right now with the competition from the tncs and i will continue to dedicate myself to doing that particularly through regulation relaxment and traffic control if expanded red carnts and taxicabs will help them, i'll support that. and i've been a strong proponent for expanding the ban on public cars. private cars, excuse me on market street. that is something i would like to see go forward and really be sort of a paradigm or example for other transit improvement throughout the cit

thank you. >> chairman brinkman: thank you. i think that we'll go to the public comment and come back with questions and clarifications. any public comment? >> yes, madame chair. >> chairman brinkman: 2 minutes. >> thank you for your time today. we would like to ask for your support and approval on this plan. i called kathy back in november of 2015. it's been a long engaging process. we've had a lot of disagreements from a lot of neighbors. i think that we've come to a compromise and a good solution at this time. our neighbor has already doubled so we are looking to triple the population of the neighborhood. we welcome that and the density of the neighborhood. we just need a plan to engage the neighbors as well as the parking condition which right now is 24/7 and free so we would like to change that. i do want to thank kathy and hank for their persistent and their engagement in this process. it's one of the more unusual and engaging endeavors that the city has come into the dog patch with so thank you for that. >> chairman brin
