jackie ward joins us live at a warming sent r for residents forced out in the cold. jackie? >> reporter: it's getting better. pg&e crews are about to go door to door. about 50, 60 people took advantage of the school, the warming center, i should say and one person spent almost the night, until 2:00 a.m. but his gas was restored so he spent the night in his own home with more on the updatant progress, pg&e is making, we have their spokesperson. where do we stand right now and what is the critical thick you want people to know about getting their gas back on? >> well. >> we want people to know that we will be coming to your home so do not attempt to turn your gas back on yourself. that should only be left to pg&e. that's the only safe way but we will be coming around. we're sending out about 150 gas service representatives. they will be going out shortly. folks in this area will be seeing the trucks and the people coming door to door. want to remind people ask for i.d., make sure that it is a pg&e rep. we always have our i.d. on hand we're happy to show it but we just want to

. >> jackie bensen got there soon after. what are you hearing? >> reporter: you can see fairfax county police have this section taped off. look at the service road. that is where witnesses say the victim who was shot in the abdomen crawled and crawled for some distance down that service road on little river turnpike after he was shot around 9:00 this evening. now, what we are told by police is that they are looking into the possibility that this res t resulted from some type of argument. i will tell you we talked to witnesses here who did not want to appear on camera who said they heard a woman screaming at this man at the top of their lu lungs, using profanity, and then they heard two shots and realized a shooting had happened a short time ago. we talked to one of the incident commanders to see what he had to say. >> we did have some witnesses, talked about a vehicle that sped away from the scene. we believe it was a white vehicle. we're not exactly sure of make and model yet. that's something our detectives are trying to iron out. >> again, we'

kpix 55's jackie ward is live -- kpix 5's jackie ward is live at the scene weather very latest. jackie? >> reporter: behind me, frank, is where all these accidents ended. they were caused by a single dump truck. take a look. the truck was uprighted a little bit ago. despite the destruction, veteran police officers say it could have been worse. it all started around 8:50 a.m. when a truck traveling eastbound on silver avenue lost control according to eyewitnesses. at this point in the investigation, police believe the driver was dealing with mechanical issues. the first accident happened at somerset and silver where the truck collided with a car forcing it into a home. two people were in the car and they are being treated for nonserious injuries at san francisco general. the truck continued down silver eventually plowing into a lamp pole at san bruno and silver. that's when it slipped on its side breaking through a guardrail and dumping construction debris on 101 southbound. [ pause ] >> nobody was hit to my knowledge as far as the debris falling down to the 101. as you can see b

jackie ward is live in san francisco where power just came back to some muni lines. jackie? >> reporter: well, we just actually were on the bay bridge toll plaza and we made our way down here to russian hill. as most of you know, the speed limit on the bridge is 50 miles per hour but at one point, we had to drop down to 30 miles an hour because the wind was just so horrific it was rocking our van back and forth. but it was looking lower vehicles as well. as we drove into closer to san francisco, we can see the bay levels. they are so high and the wind is whipping the tides right in. there have problems all over. in the mission district, all eyes are on 17th and folsom an area that's notorious for flooding whenever we have rain. it's been this way for almost 30 years now. water flows from twin peaks right under doors. the sewer pipes need after overall, that won't happen until the city can find the $200 million a proecket ject -- project like costs. staying in oakland but on the joaquin miller road, wind and rain brought down a tree forcing authorities to shut down one lane.

it all started with a 911 call about a drowning in fairfield and that's where kpix 5 reporter jackie ward is with the latest on that investigation. jackie. >>> reporter: police quickly determined that this death was suspicious and soon after that, it was determined that the little boy was placed in a bathtub and intentionally drowned. let's take a look at the person in custody for this. it's 51-year-old grandmother dawn raines-hewes. fairfield police and fire personnel went to her house on the 100 block of jefferson in fairfield -- 1400 block of jefferson in fairfield yesterday morning when they found the little boy around 11:00. >> officers and fire personnel found a 4-year-old little boy who was unconscious, not breathing. they began resuscitation efforts. the 4-year-old was taken to a nearby trauma with where he died . >> reporter: raines-hewes is being held without bail at the solano county jail. a 6-year-old and 1-year-old were also in her care yesterday but they are okay. so as this investigation continues, police are still trying to determine motive. jackie ward, kpix 5. >>> s
