big news for south carolina's state employees. lawmakers said today they're launching an effort to provide state workers with a five per cent pay raise. the plan has bipartisan support and being led by republican senator john courson and democratic senator darrell jackson. their proposal covers employees at state agencies as well as colleges---and if approved would take effect july 1st. courson says the pay raise would cost the state $75 million dollars. but he says the state has such a large budget surplus, the raise can be provided without the need for a tax increase. there are currently about 33 thousand state employees. they've had pay raises in only two of the last seven years. three tickets hit the jackpot in the powerball drawing but who is holding those tickets? jennifer bjorklund spent the night at an all night party at a chino hills 7-eleven, where one of the tickets was sold. :10 :23 natural sound "chino hills, chino hills....
