now is the time for some tlc so the problem doesn't get any worse. getting outside in winter can help fight the blues but when it's this cold, the sharp contrast between frigid outdoor air and warm dry air inside can spell disaster for skin unless it's protected. >> having petroleum jelly on the lips or the face when you're skiing, hiking, things like that outdoors can really be helpful. >> winter weather can be especially harsh on the lips so be sure to carry lip balm and don't forget sunscreen. sunburn and sun damage happen even in the winter. >> when we have snow on the ground, or ice on the ground, that does reflect a lot of the rays of the sun and so a good compromise could be to really use a nice moisturizer that has a built spf. >> when you come inside a hot shower might sound nice but staying in the shower too long can dry your skin even more. >> what can be helpful is keeping those showers as short as possible. when possible keeping the water as lukewarm as possible and then really when you exit the shower just pat dry rather than thoroughly
