so i would like to ask the giants, as the developers, because i think after conversations with the giants through the representative roszko mats that they recognize also that they also want to build really strong community and it is their intention actually to build really strong communities and would love to partner with the san francisco unified school district in making the school a reality for the parents at mission rock and the community already there at mission bay. and looking and setting an example for all the developers in the central soma plan to be collaborating with the san francisco unified school district to curate a really strong educational experience for the families that are living there. so i just have a question actually for jack baird, that when we looked at the gap that the san francisco unified school district has, and you know, jane kim, myself and supervisor norman yee, we know about the school district and how underfunded it is, this is not something they anticipated, to have to build new schools in such expedited manner. would you be willing to assist them with

: the giants, the port staff, the commission. we have worked very, very diligently, very hard on many, many issues, and in addition to what everybody has said in terms of all the speakers, i can assure you we've gone over this with a fine tooth comb to make sure it makes sense for all the stakeholders, economically, financially, and the community in terms of the benefits it provides, and all the things that we have talked about, affordable housing, etcetera. i'm very proud to see this day come forward, and i think it's really a day to recognize all the parties. thank the staff, executive director forbes. we had another meeting before this to resolve the last remaining issues that we had. i think when you serve as a port commissioner, you always wonder what people will say 20 years from now in terms of what legacy you leave behind. there are many, many important things we worked on in this commission, some of them more short-term, like america's cup, but what is lasting is a project like this which is for all the people in san fra

since the rfp, the giants commitment to the project has not waferrers. we appreciate the perspective as an existing and successful port tenant and neighbor of the site who brought that together with their vision. we appreciate their ability to stick with the project over its long development period and in particular their success in seeking vote era approval when that requirement was established midstream. we at the port also appreciate the array of public benefits that have been negotiated with the help of the office of economic and workforce development and many other city agency that's participated in this transaction over the years. now, when we have the opportunity to take a step back and look at the entire package, we at the port feel very optimistic about this project on several levels. what it will deliver to the people who live, work, and visit here once it is built, the improved waterfront that will benefit port property in the mission bay area that continues to grow around the site, and the benefit to the port's financial position as it looks
