and thank you for being great supporters of idc. today, four years after founding idc, i'm proud that our small organization has achieved so much in a few years for the christians of the middle east. our success has been largely due to the commitment of many of the religious right, freedom rights, and human rights. for those of you who were with us last year, you've heard vice-president pence promise more in direct support to the persecuted christians. [applaus [applause] >> i'm happy to tell you the trump administration has their promise, already 300 million provided directly to organizations that are making an immediate difference to the people who are mostly in need. [applaus [applaus [applause] >> we have been working with, along with our partners and supporters in the u.s. legislation and other policy makers, and the administration, to focus on decisions which have an immediate relief results for suffering people as well as policies and resolutions which are aimed to improve the state of religious minorities in the middle east,

idc the competition playing out? >> it is domestic versus international. we all play on the international stage, like companies in the u.s. so we are based in china and going global. , it you have a nice drug can be used globally for patients here in china, in the u.s., and europe. for example, i have a tight he b, we did aitis .eal with a leading company this drug is a first in class opportunity to cure hepatitis be in china. in china, we have 86 million people infected hepatitis b. globally it is more than 300 million people. david: how much of your revenue do you get from outside china? are fromr revenues china, except some research, r&d , from global companies, like roche. we definitely want to see revenues outside china and at china is our major market. rishaad: how supportive is the regulatory framework? there has been talk about generics, lowering prices, policy changes. how does that affect your business materially? >> it is good. first, you see the acceleration of regular -- regulatory approval for drugs. embracecy is open to the first in class, b

idc the new congress handling this position? also, how does this affect our relationships with south korea and japan? >> first of all, i wanted to thank you for the wonderful collaboration with the foundation and we are an organization focused on strengthening the u.s. and japan relations, and when i am marking kathy and joe was working together, we was promoting a strong u.s., japan, and korea relationship, and now that we are in the private sector we thought it was necessary to prove that organizations focus on japan can collaborate and work toward common interest. thank you for hosting this event. getting back to your question, you are correct that president donald trump has challenged the alliances, but if you look at the national security strategy of the u.s. government, which is issued by the trump adminstration, it talked about the importance of alliances in dealing with the major challenges facing the united states, which is the emergence of competitors who do not share our interest, in particular china and russia. betwe

we're going to start bringing groups like idc in to have them help us identify where we are not doing as good a job as we can in protecting religious liberties and finding out places where we can be more proactive.
