if you've read the book by dave eggers, about the experience of one man in new orleans, it rever reveals a fact, unknown to me or the rest of us, while nobody could bring food and water down there, somebody managed to build a secret prison in the greyhound bus parking lot within two days because he was kept there for two months because he happened to be syrian american and people didn't like the way he looked. to your larger point. you saw the 15,000 people in the super dome. what you didn't see was the thousands of white folks on their roofs without food and water for four days, ten miles east of there in saint bernard parish because tv didn't go there. this event was marginalized as a racial or class story when it affected everybody. 80% of the metropolitan area was white folks, asians, latinos. i think the media cover marginalized it. it took the usness out of this event. >> given our current economic and political climate. >> it's a good one. >> it doesn't bode well i wouldn't think for infrastructure like what you're talking about here. >> we just had 8 to $15 billion invested on th

karl rove, when he brought in dave carney to help him in perry's race in 1998 there was essential in that race. disagreements about tactics and strategy. perry thought he needed to go more negative. that tension exists, without a doubt. for a lot of insiders, it's fascinating to watch karl weigh in on the race. he's not a huge associate of romney's. i don't think he thinks michele bachmann is a strong nominee. every time karl talks about the race because of that history, people look for the nuance. he's favorable to perry. the advice he gives to all of them is right. it's what he told all his clients to do. don't focus on battling each other in a primary. >> karl rove says go after the incumbent, go after president obama. don't attack each other, even in the primary. what do you think? >> he's right. karl rove nailed it. they should be going after president obama if they are a republican candidate, not devouring each other. what you are seeing is more and more bachmann and perry going after each other, battling for that part. ron paul was there first and staked out the anti-fed situa

politico's dave says she's getting 40 to 80 people at these parties that she has scheduled. it's a good turn out for this early in the campaign, shows excitement about it and she's keeping up a heavy schedule to show she's going to run hard, but not be like the attorney general brown, she was not a great campaigner. she wants to go out and work for it. she's interviewing consultants. if she announces, it will be shortly after labor day. >> will she run? it looks like she's going to. is she a good candidate there? >> i hate this news because where i wanted elizabeth warren was the consumer protection agency. she worked so hard on it. she explained why we needed it. the clarity of her voice on that. the fact she's having to run for elected office because the republican controlled congress blocked her appointment made it possible for her to be nominated. it's made the agency toothless. it makes me sad. because i appreciate the american democratic, what i appreciate is someone is smart, competent and clearly sort of capable of explaining the hardest and most difficult element of
