cbs north carolina joins us live from the durham rescue mission. emma, you've been out there all day. you know families have been standing in line for hours for this really special event. >> yeah. some of them showed up at 4 a.m. to get in line for this. this is one of the backpacks out. most of these donated by a corporate sponsor. they donated almost 3,000 backpacks. you got a little look at what's inside. we're talking some pencil cases, normal notebooks, some binder, all the things you need to make it a successful back to school, hopefully. we talked with some parents the average cost of back to school and the backpack could run them upwards of $50, $60. more if you have more than student. the rescue mission does here is really a big help. >> no, not really. it's been very helpful. >> it's huge. it takes a lot help. we have a very small staff and to pull out an event like this, it take just ton of volunteers and many, many hours to get all the backpacks together, the food, the clothing. away these pack packs they give things like clothing and f
