were thrilled and immediately reached out to mission graduates and other adults we know who work at john o'connell high school in the mission to tell us about which young people at o'connell stand out to them. this is when we learned about the incredible leadership of najari turner. najari's involved in an impressive number of activities, both in school and beyond. she has a number of leadership roles within the student body and is constantly working to improve the school community. she is the sports chair of the associated student body leadership team, she is an amazing emcee at nearly all of o'connell's school assemblies and rallies, and she plays on the basketball team. in addition, najari is a proud member of both the latinx club and black student union and also the president of the yearbook team. outside of school, she somehow finds time to work at the exploratorium, where she's not only learned to do seven magic tricks, but how to dissect a cow's eye. i can't wait to hear about that from you, more about that. throughout all these activities, najari displays an open-hearted commitme
