the u-s navy, coast guard and kitsap county emergency management found the wayward mine in the water near brownsville marina. emergency alerts and warnings went out to residents to leave the shoreline or shelter in place... as authorities were afraid the mine could go off. they managed to tow it away safely, and set it off in the middle of the harbor...evacua ted residents and boater watched as it exploded....
