from the election and the election stunner, just about every poll got it wrong except for the usc/"l.a. times" poll. which pretty consistently had trump in the lead. the survey director, jill darling is here. you took a lot of criticism for months. criticism, and on the whole, we're pretty happy with how our poll performed. one big difference between the way that we do our poll and how others did, is the fact that we work with panel of members over time so that's pretty much the same people over the course of an election. while other pollsters may talk to different people each time. and in an election season when many people may have felt shy about talking about their vote choices, this will allow us to buildru and i think it allowed us to see the entire spectrum of the vote. >> now, even though your results, you were one of the few that did get it right, were you surprised so many other people got it wrong? >> well, this was a very difficult election to poll in. and a big difference, another big difference between the way that we do our polling and how others do is that rather than as

there were protests here in l.a. this weekend and all the big cities. in orlando, oregon, this afternoon a group of student protesters for some reason decided to storm a local mall. >> jimmy: it got a little bit crazy. the good news is this is the first time in almost five years that anyone under the age 21 has been to a mall. [ laughter ] good for orange julius, i guess. also during that "60 minutes" interview with trump he said, going forward he will be "very restrained" on twitter and facebook. so the interview was taped two days later, he went on a tirade against the "new york times" on twitter. but he didn't use all caps, which is -- [ laughter ] baby steps, it's something, right? lower case. speaking of social media, facebook is -- they're now planning to weed out -- you know the bogus news stories that show up on your feed? mark zuckerberg has promised to crack down on what he calls fake news. he's also calling bs on your happy anniversary posts. nobody's buying some people believe that these phony news stories and the hoaxes on facebook all the

the 60 freeway in the l.a. area, the flames sparked a brush fire that spread to more than two acres before it was contained. several explosions heard as the fire spread. no injuries reported. it's up clear what caused the fire in the first place. storm drain led to portions of the road being closed in orlando, florida. at first, it appeared another eagle was protecting the eagle, but experts say it's likely the birds were fighting over territory. they had a beef, apparently. it flew away once rescue crews arrived on the scene. the injured eagle was freed after being stuck for 90 minutes. >> two eagles fought in the sky and dropped into the drain. i pulled over. i ran out of the house. >> who knew that eagles had their own territory. >> they are bold birds. one was stuck because he was trying to take cover from the other one attacking him in the air. >> the crips and blood of the eagle world. the bird hurt her leg, chest and cracked her beak and will take six weeks to heal. >> thank goodness for the first respon
