abc's marci gonzales has the story. marci? >> reporter: shirleen, the blast was so big it could be seen from space. today hospitals in the area are overwhelmed with patients and people looking for missing family members. today thousands of rescuers desperately searching for survivors near the still smoldering rubble from this massive explosion in china. hundreds of people injured, dozens killed. the death toll still rising from this disaster that started yesterday just before 11:00 p.m. local time in the city of tianjin. firefighters responding to a fire at a warehouse storing hazardous materials. then a half hour later as they battled the flames, a huge blast followed by another, bigger explosion. people nearby left with no time to find safety. among the dead some of those firefighters and migrant workers sleeping in neighboring dormitories. abc's bob woodruff at the scene today. >> look. it's absolutely destroyed. oh, my god. these are people's homes. this is where they lived. dvds, music. this advertise horrible. >> reporte
