matt: we will be back in 60 seconds. don't go away. matt: welcome back. brazil is witnessing a surgeon fever. the health ministry says there have been 740,000 new cases from the start of the year to mid april. peter: spread by mosquitoes, there are no vaccines to prevent infection just yet but they are trying to slow the spread by genetically modified mosquitoes. here is more. reporter: there are 1000 insects in each container. they are releasing a quarter of a million mosquitoes into the wild. these insects were bred in a laboratory and the team hopes to use them to stop deadly favor from -- fever from spreading. >> we are not attacking the fever directly. we are going after the carriers of the disease. it will have a direct in spec on -- impact on the spread of dengue. reporter: 2 million anti-dengue mosquitoes are bred in this laboratory in sao paulo state. only male larvae they are allowed to develop -- larvae are allowed to develop. they don't bite but are deadly to other mosquitoes. >> when they are released, they will find the females in the wild.

matt o'brien, i think he is right. bitcoin is frequently referred to as a virtual currency or digital money. right now, it could be that one day. it is true that you can exchange bitcoin for other things. you can buy things online or bitcoin. it does meet some of the characteristics of a currency. but its volatile price has meant few people have been willing to do that. i do not think currency or money is the best way to describe it now. what it does do now is serve as this new network for moving money around. you may not want to keep your money in bitcoin, but when you want to make a transaction for the four minutes you are actually making the transaction you may want to have bitcoin for that long to use the network to send money. that network is what a lot of of people have focused on recently. wall street banks got into this. goldman sachs making its investment. nasdaq, new york stock exchange, getting involved. what they are looking at is not the currency but the financial network. this goes to how many things bitc

host: matt, a republican. how are you guys? caller: the question i have, you made a comment a little while ago about how businesses will see less turnover and things like that. why haven't they instituted this on their own since there is such a benefit. why does the government need to compel them to make a good business decision? host: that's a great question. plenty of businesses have and the issue is about evening out the playing field. it's tough to offer this benefit for the employees that you care about when down the street someone isn't. guest: and so it's become a real issue. it's tough to be a business that wants to do the right thing by their employees and also sees the gains from it to then have to compete with companies that don't. host: what companies are doing this on their own? guest: most major companies are. microsoft made huge news recently when they said we guarantee it for our own in-house employees. now we need thousands of contractors to agree to it, too, which isn't for white-collar employees but anyone wh
