of new hampshire. seacoast businessman mark connelly' s and the rate for governor did what his priorities would be and how he plans to campaign to get to concord. thank you for joining us. i am josh mcelveen. he has campaigned hard in new hampshire as a presidential candidate in the granite state. has been difficult to break through. what will it take? lindsey graham is my first guest. sen. graham: thank you very much. josh: you filed this week and got a little emotional talking about new hampshire' s place and how you feel it is in danger. sen. graham: the primary is at risk. national polling undercuts the primary. it used to be that we let voters decide who is the quality candidate. using polling to segregate the crowd out and say you are not worthy of being on the main stage because of a 2% polling in a 5% margin of error is ridiculous and it undercuts what we' ve done in new hampshire, to get to know the candidate as the candidate questions and let voters evaluate. josh: where do you think the nega

is doing well in new hampshire? raymond buckley: it is exciting to see a lot of independence becoming involved in the campaign. i actually think that there should be more people voting in the democratic primary on february 9 versus on the republican side. whether it is hillary's candidacy, bernie sanders candidacy or martin o'malley as well. matt: you are saying that independents are more likely to vote in the democratic primary. who do you think that will benefit? could that benefit hillary clinton in a way? who does it benefit in terms of the candidates? raymond buckley: 42% of the new hampshire electro party cap wake up that morning and decide which ballots they are going to take. democratic or republican. so it is a battle, not just among the democrats but among the republicans as well. it has made a big difference in past elections. whether we look back to the 2000 primary, where the independence were voting for john mccain and that ended up being a last-minute vote. i'm hoping that the independents will partic

about new hampshire. two guys who did really poorly in our iowa poll, pretty significantly poorly were jeb bush and chris christie. neither did well in iowa at all. both did much better in new hampshire. do you see new hampshire as a must-win for those two? and if so, which of them is in a better place to pull off that victory at this point? >> i think it's a near must-win. it goes to what we were talking about with mark. jeb bush, as of this poll, looks in a stronger position. you take his first -- as a first and second-choice, he's up around 30, christie's around 18. his favorabilities are higher. i think he has more upside in new hampshire than chris christie does. and for christie he's got to win new hampshire. if he doesn't, he's rudy giuliani. i think jeb probably has to win but finish a strong second. >> polls a snapshot in time and jeb bush hasn't been in iowa and new hampshire to campaign. our polls both show that in both states there are some issues that for him, for some voters, they say are de

hillary clinton won the new hampshire primaries in 2008, and has a lot of friends in new hampshire. bit of background and logistics for our viewers, can you explain the difference between a caucus, a primary, and how that will work? jennifer, you first, can you inflate how the process works in your state? guest: sure. on the gop side, it is pretty straightforward. people get together in the neighborhood and cast ballots. they listen to speeches, and cast their vote on a little piece of paper, and drop it in a bucket, or something like that. they are counted in a very public way. on the democratic side, it is much different. it is kind of like a sporting activity. people are all standing in one room, like a school gymnasium, and try to recruit supporters from one candidate. it is a lot of cheering, excitement, persuading. you have to take a very public stance. it also takes time. in iowa is time-consuming. again, you have to listen to the speeches, get up, that's a silly in these events. some people are intimidated by that. candidates have a hard time getting people to come to the ca
