sophie mason was last seen in december, but she was only reported missing the hayward police this week. her mother's samantha johnson, is now in the element of county jail, arrested in newark on charges of child abuse and resisting arrest. meantime police in merced acting on information from hayward, police found the body of a child at a home yesterday. detectives and crime scene investigators have been processing that scene and have not yet identified the body as sofia mason. officers are canvassing the area looking for witnesses gathering additional information homicide investigation is underway and valeo after police say one woman was found dead with a stab wound. that incident was reported around 4 20 yesterday afternoon in the area of monterey and tennessee streets that's near the olympic health club and chase bank. investigators say the woman had at least one stab wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. police have not released the woman's identity, but says she's an unsheltered woman who resides in vallejo. anyone with information is asked to call the police. and five people
